Three persons in three different political parties have won to slug out in Anambra State governorship race in the November 6, 2021 governorship elections.

The winners are Senator Andy Nnamdi Uba, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo.

An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Andy Nnamdi Uba, defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the party’s governorship candidate.

The chairman of the APC primary election panel and governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced the outcome of the poll at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu Lake, early on Sunday, June 27.

Uba emerged winner with 230,201 votes while his closest rival, Johnbosco Onunkwo, polled a total of 28,746 votes.

For All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a one-time Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo Wednesday, June 23 picked the ticket to contest November 6 governorship election in the State.

He polled 740 votes out of 792 valid votes cast by delegates at the party’s primary in Awka, the state capital.

Declaring the results of the exercise, Samson Olalere, the Returning Officer said Soludo fulfilled the provisions of Electoral Act and APGA guidelines.

Olalere said Soludo beat his rivals – House of Representative member Okwudili Ezenwakwo, Damian Okolo and Thankgod Ibeh, who scored 41, seven and four votes respectively.

He said a total of 812 delegates were registered out of which 795 accredited and 792 voted.

The returning officer issued the APGA candidate Certificate of Return after Gov. Willie Obiano, raised up Soludo’s hand as the duly elected candidate of the party in the forthcoming election.

Meanwhile, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, the former managing director of Transcorp Plc, has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ticket, for the November 6 Anambra State governorship election.

Ozigbo polled 62 votes to defeat other aspirants. Votes of other aspirants were Obiora Okonkwo -58, Senator Uche Ekwunife -44, Winston Use – 12, Chris Azubogu -10, Godwin Maduka -5 and Genevieve Ekwochi -3.

Ozigbo polled 62 votes to defeat other aspirants. Votes of other aspirants were Obiora Okonkwo -58, Senator Uche Ekwunife -44, Winston Use – 12, Chris Azubogu -10, Godwin Maduka -5 and Genevieve Ekwochi -3.
