Eschew Violence, Embrace Peace- OBJ Tells Nigerians

The former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has enjoined Nigerians to eschew violence and embrace peace and dialogue in finding solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria.

Obasanjo has condemned the shooting of protesters demanding police reform and advised President Muhammadu Buhari to “restrain the military and other security agencies from using brute force as a way of ending the crisis.”

Obasanjo in a Statement on violence against protesters in Nigeria: An Appeal for calm Wednesday afternoon, a day after soldiers shot at unarmed protesters in Lekki, Lagos said the killings of unarmed youths has reinforced their anger and frustration.
