COVID-19 infections in Nigeria keep on unsteadily tumbling for the past three days unlike the high rates recorded before now.

On March 16, 2021, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said the country recorded 179 new COVID-19 cases.

”Lagos-47, Kaduna-21, Rivers-18, Akwa Ibom-14, FCT-11, Edo-10, Cross River-9, Ogun-9, Nasarawa-6, Ebonyi-5, Ekiti-5, Zamfara-5, Delta-4, Kano-4, Osun-4, Plateau-3, Abia-2, and Gombe-1,’’ NCDC stated.

According to the public health agency, ”On March 17, 2021, 187 were new cases of #COVID19Nigeria.’’

A breakdown shows ”Lagos-42, Taraba-29,Edo-17, Abia-13, Rivers-11,Kaduna-10, Katsina-9, Oyo-9, Kwara-7, Plateau-7, Ondo-5, Bayelsa-4, Cross River-4, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Borno-3, and Nasarawa-3.”

It stated ”On the 18th of March 2021, 135 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

”The 135 new cases are reported from 16 states – Lagos (41), Imo (20), Ogun (14), FCT (10), Kebbi (11), Rivers (10), Akwa Ibom (8), Plateau (4), Ebonyi (3), Kaduna (3), Kano (3), Osun (3), Oyo (2), Ekiti (1), Gombe (1), and Nasarawa (1).

”Till date, 161409 cases have been confirmed, 146890 cases have been discharged and 2027 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,’’ NCDC added.

Meanwhile, NCDC tweeted ”162 community recoveries in Ebonyi State managed in line with guidelines. Data from Kebbi State recorded over the last two days.’’
